FWIW I use the Magpul M-Lok rail covers,

They provide a lot of grip and protect you from burning/freezing your hands. I didn’t realize how well a metal rail system dissipates heat till I went hunting in 20° weather.
That looks like a great little gun you have there.

Looking good, what kind of accuracy are you getting with your AR pistol??

Good stuff, but why didn't you paint the barrel? I always do that for barrels under ff rails, as it's hard to get in there to coat and/or wipe down the barrel.
Important if you're gonna have it outside alot, in the rain. Even barring rain, comin' in from the cold, you get condensation.

All my barrels are painted, and I've yet to "cook off" any paint, though I've shot the heck out if them.

Your pistol turned out looking good Holyhitman. The ARs I've painted, I only did the Lower, Upper and rail also. Don't really want my firearm looking like it was painted by Earl Scheib.

Earl Scheib could paint any car, any color for $89.95. Prep was extra. You got what you paid for and how he made his money. Earl sounded like a Dallas Oilman on his channel 5 TV commercials.
Don't worry about the small marks made installing the dust cover. It's just the first (and smallest) of many more to come.
