Shouldn't the barrel have a larger outer diameter than regular Saiga's for this to work ?
(So that it could be machined to the correct profile)
Also, I guess the trigger group from KR-103 was re-used as well.
I have a Saiga 5.45 I got years ago and a basic AK-12 kit (no trigger group, no trunnion).
So I am wondering which way to go.
I saw someone selling demilled AK-12 trunnions with gas tubes attached. But I also read demilled trunnions cannot be re-used.
Finding a 22mm Bulgarian trunnion is not easy these days, so looks like converting a Saiga might be a good choice for me.
If the Saiga has a dimpled receiver I'd say you're all set. M-13 or CWG should have no problem welding the AK-12 gas tube to the Saiga trunnion.
If you wanted to get a more authentic barrel profile you can buy a US option. Go to akfiles and search for user obstreperous. He has chrome lined barrels for sale.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
