Crisis, about halfway through. Another High is coming next, about 2028, if we weather the coming storms.

Obviously following the Ivanka Trump presidency.

NO! Despite being easy on the eyes, Ivanka is NO friend of ours, only marginally less foe than Submarine Tulsi Gabbard. Difference is she has a certain degree of "family loyalty" as long as Daddy Dearest holds the big desk...

I doubt we’re halfway through. Things aren’t even that bad right now. No disruptions in products or services en mass, no mass violence, no breakdown of order en mass.

People finna die and systems finna fail before I believe we’re at the half point. But who knows . . . . . things can change VERY quickly. For all I know, COVID19 could initiate a world-wide economic collapse this fall that takes multiple years to stabilize. Or any other unforeseen Archduke Ferdinand-esque catalyst.

Cruz was a slimeball who pulled some slimeball stunts during the GOP primaries. And yes I know her politics, but I've learned Trump politics are malleable and if she ran as a conservative she'd probably end up with recently reformed conservative views. It would also be hilarious if she was the first woman president, just for the lolz, the tears and the popping of heads of people who for 20 years bemoaned the "glass ceiling" but will say "but not her..."

The Clinton and Warren aneurysms would just be icing on the cake. Ivanka could also promise to be the "moderate" that is willing to work with the Dems on areas where reason and common sense prevail as she is familiar with liberal views. With the right handlers (and I'm officially offering my services) she could do two terms.

I'd say the crisis was the housing market collapse and the division created by the Obama election and presidency. I don't think we are ever going to get back to 1969 levels of anarchy although many tried. Trump obviously hasn't fixed anything but did at least give us a course correction. We ain't out of the woods yet and obviously the wrong person could turn the boat around and steer us back out into rough seas, but even Reagans first four years were challenging as we had to rebuild things that had not been maintained for decades and pay debts that had been kicked forward for decades. And even then there was still a lot of new spending, especially when the cold war turned into a "who can spend more on what" contest.

"Everything old is new again". Old saying.
This country is SO fad-ish..so cyclical it aint funny. Things come up for awhile, a week, am month, 5 years...then quietly go away, only to re-surface later by someone looking to be "old school" or "retro" then it pops up again briefly.
We've had boom/bust boom/bust forever, always will. We've had commies & socialists since at least the 60's, way before that even, they were just underground about it. We've had anti-American Americans since we defeated the British. Feast & famine have been around since the Garden.
We've had epidemics similar to corona virus, like the Black Plague & others.
From my reading & research, even the media has largely always been left of center if not outright leftists.
Nothing new. Very little is "new"..its just the same stuff only different, for lack of a better way to put it.
Fads....from disco to f-in chicken sandwiches...they come, and they go.
The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than the cowards they really are.

Steyr, is this the Sapiens book you mentioned?
    https://www.amazon.com/Sapiens-Human.../dp/0062316095

For me one of those Oh shit moments was reading Atlas Shrugged. I'm not a full on objectivist but I had a lot of epiphanies reading that book.
