My new Sig Romeo5X died 1st time out at the range

I took my trusty 10.5" Ruger to the range today for its maiden voyage. The ROMEO5X (SOR52101) was working great until around the 182 round mark and it just quit. I changed out the AAA battery with a new one and nothing, dead.
I've submitted an RMA to exchange it for another. Im sure its just a fluke.

raw vid from the range it was about 38F light wind https://sendvid.com/bvbchf80

Mine died last week around 15 rounds. First day I'd used it. I have 2 others that seem fine so far.

I like on their product page they use keywords such as "Ultra-low parallax", "leading-edge optical design", "worry-free service", "IPX-7 rated", "SIG SAUER’s INFINITE Guarantee™" and "fog-proof performance".

But they fail to list the working temperature of the sight. And IPX-7 rated means it can submerge in 1 meter of water for 30 mins.

They do that... Alot. Lots of guys in my department carrying 320 rx that have had to send their Romeos back for replacement. Garbage optics.

Sig electro optics are a dumpster fire. We see them come back regularly with issues.
    I paint spaceship parts.

    Blown away.

A range trip for me is 1hr of driving each way. Plus time to prep (bags, ammo, targets, shooting schedule). $100+ in ammo, gas money, probably a deliciously overpriced greasy lunch, and then time spent unpacking afterwards.

If a cheap optic fails once, an Aimpoint would’ve already been worth the extra come up.

Has nothing to do with “getting dead in a gunfight”

I can’t believe some SWAT teams use these things.
