I thought the swiss just had a national referendum where they voted to restrict semiauto firearms ownership in order to comply with EU policies. bringing an end to centuries(?) of tradition?

They did, on 19th May 2019. However all the existing semi autos remain, and acquisitions of new ones is still possible, but either (a) with limited capacity mags (10 for rifles and 20 for pistols) or with a special permit, either as collector or shooter (in which case you have to prove every five years that you regularly shoot).

Not precision shooting, but something near me in Daniel Boone Nationel Forest, western Laurel County, Kentucky.

Allegedly he killed an approximately 10 year old over an apple and the rest of the community didn't want him buried with them.

Communities of Swiss Colony and East Bernstadt are a few miles east of the grave site.
