I understand it to be a round designed for SBRs so the need to get the velocity up quick takes it up there in a 16”.
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

Even if it’s designed for SBR’s, should still be a badass round out of a 20”.

I have the 64gr GD round and it does indeed feel a little more spunky than you'd expect for .223.

The 64 grain chronos out to 2750 from my 16 inch barrels. I would be real happy if it was 200 FPS faster.

For some reason I never got some gold dot 62 but I do have numbers for Fusion and TBBC.

Fusion 62 .223 (not MSR Variant) 16”=2802, 11.5” no data
    Federal Tactical LE223T3 .223 62 16”=2905, 115.” 2554

62 GDSP (24445SP) is usually 2650 from 16" barrels I've chrono'ed it in. SDs are 30-50, higher than I like.

Interestingly, it has been capable of MOA or slightly better in some precision barrels.

Could folks please post actual velocity for the 75 grain gold dot out of a 16 inch barrel? Also, for those who have shot actual critters with it, I’d appreciate your views on performance.
    Many thanks.
Mid 2500ish. I say ish, because I've noted some variance lot to lot. Friend shot a deer the other year. Did well.
