My tv stays off weeks at a time. If all tv/movies disappeared today- we'd be better off, imo.

I would imagine that the list of actors with military (or LE) experience is probably not a long one.

Post WW2 you are probably right. But look up the number of actors who served in WW2 and you will be amazed.

Yeah, I think most of us older types remember actors such as James Garner, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, and Steve McQueen that had prior military experience. From the Vietnam era, R.Lee Ermey and Dale Dye come to mind.

In the 1980's when there was Grenada, Panama, and various Central American actions, I'm not sure who (if anyone) hailed from that time period.

In the past 20 years of Iraq/Afghanistan you would think that there'd be at least a couple of guys with combat experience who decided to give acting a try.

Going WAY back, Audie Murphy carved out a steady (if unspectacular) movie career after the Army. He was discharged as a 1LT with 50% disability, after winning every award for valor that was available during the war - to include the CMH

Meh, I separate actor's politics from their product.

Same. If I boycotted every actor or business that I disagreed with I would be forced to live in a hut in the woods made with hand tools.

It sounds like you're pretty consistent in your boycott of TV and Film. So what do you do for music listening? Any contemporary or vintage music you listen to - rock, country, pop, classical? Or do you just make your own?

One does not win medals awarded for valor. Combat is not a game show.
