    Samson Mfg Mini-14 Stock

The Mini-14 was sold as a factory folder back before the Clinton Ban. After the ban was signed into law, Ruger disposed of and/or repurposed the tooling to make other products.

Once the ban expired, a few vocal Mini-14 owners started pestering Ruger to bring a factory folder back into the market. I would email the CEO once or twice a year just to keep the pressure on. Did it work? It didn't seem to.

Well, Samson Mfg has fjnally filled the void and is now selling what they call the A TM stock. I haven't seen one live and in person yet but pictures show a stock that looks very much like the 1980s original.

I don't know what relationship Samson has with Ruger but I do note the A TM stock is "endorsed" by Ruger. It is being reported on TOS that Samson gets the wood from Ruger and only makes the metal parts. Not sure who, if not Samson, is making the pistol grip.

Who cares? Many people likely won't especially given the cost of a new Mini-14. But people who have older Mini-14 rifles will probably be glad to see these stocks on the market.

Personally I want to get one of these to use on my Mini-14 in 300 AAC Blackout so I'm waiting for a blued or otherwise blackned stainless version. I suppose plan b is to buy a stock and have the stainess parts Cerakoted. Or maybe nitride treated.

I asked on the Samson FB when we could expect a blued version. They basically said it’s not planned at this time. Also they were gonna make there own metal parts as close as they could to Rugers original design when Ruger approached them with the molds. Ruger fully supports them with this and I would expect to see new Mini’s from Ruger with these stocks in the future. I’m waiting to see some reports on these but I expect I will end up with one. I’ll also need to get it Cerekoted.

I'd like to see Ruger sell a complete rifle especially with the old style gas block. Or a block with a swivel stud on both the left and right. A pistol with folding brace might make sense as well. Will any of this happen? The resulting firearm will be pretty expensive. Will the consumer market want a rifle (even with a folding stock) that's pushing a Grand?

I've thought about getting the 10/22 version. Unfortunately, I can't have a folding stock on a Mini-14 (California). I also don't own one. I can have a folding stock on a rimfire. I also own a 10/22. Of course, I would likely justify the purchase of another rifle through this...somehow.

I like, but I'd rather have a blued one. Will they work on an AC556F?

If I had a AC556 id probably just buy one and make it work. I would think with a file and a blade you could do it. If you have a AC556 you can probably afford to try it at least.

Wow, I can remember buying a Ruger GB with folding stock for $499 not very long ago. Of course I can also remember $80 K98s, Moisins and $100 SKSs.
