DD barrel nut torque for precision build?

I have an 18" upper I've been planning on shimming or bedding the barrel to see if groups will shrink. At the same time, I'll switch handguard from a 15" Geissele Mk8 to a 15" DD Lite Rail lll. All of the instructions I read from Daniel Defense state 55 lbs for the barrel nut, but conventional wisdom says no more than 40 lbs on a precision build.

Will it matter if I stay in the 35-40 ft. lbs range when I install the DD rail?
