wow. They are going all in I see.

Violating parts of the Open Meetings Act
Ban sale of firearms and ammunition
    Ban sale of any alcohol
Closing of all bars, taverns, liquor stores, etc
Ban sale or giving away of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products in any container other than a gasoline tank permanently fixed to a motor vehicle
Direct the shutoff of power, water, gas, etc
Take possession of private property and obtain full title to same
Prohibit or restrict ingress and egress to and from the City
    Whiskey

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one

Makes me wonder what local wealthy donor is having problems finding property for their new money farm.

And now that the people have no sports to watch why not deprive them of booze too. What could possibly go wrong.

Why title? I can understand temporarily using private property, but title?

With these declarations of emergencies and any follow on suspension of civil rights, I feel that if the niceties of the government are going to come off, as a private citizen I’m no longer encumbered by strict legalities and societal norms. These people better understand that if they think their locus of power comes from the barrel of a gun that they’re going to have the barrel of a gun pointed back at them. More so, in rural/small urban areas like downstate Champaigne. They better realize who the good guys are and work with them rather than try to take an adversarial position.

Way to start a run on ammo.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Passing an EO based on a situation that doesn't even exist within the local jurisdiction is pretty stupid and reactionary, but I want to see what they actually DO. If they take no actions unless an actual problem arises, ho harm no foul. If they start adversely impacting the community based on fear alone, then they deserve torches and pitchforks in response.
What if this whole crusade's a charade?

They stated their intent. Whether they chicken out on follow through or not doesn't matter.

Much like if someone says they are going to kill another. They told their intended victim what they want to do and the intended victim would be wise to not forget it, lest the "intended" adjective no longer be needed.
