Another Lee Enfield 'Scout' (in original configuration) -No4 Mk 1(T)

Thought I might post up pics of another Lee Enfield type rifle converted by Holland and Holland (S51) used by scouts and snipers that is in a bit more of the original configuration some collectors here might like:

Interestingly, this No. 32 Mk III rifle scope, which is matched to the rifle, was made in 1946 at the end of the sniper rifle contract run and the entire kit looks to be in almost unissued condition. The original camo scarf/ face vail was in the box as well.

    VERY nice, thanks for sharing!
What if this whole crusade's a charade?
And behind it all there's a price to be paid
For the blood which we dine
Justified in the name of the holy and the divine…

That’s a beautiful rifle. I’d hate to ask how much it cost?

I also hate to think the number of Enfields the red coats destroyed after the war. What a travesty.

At the time I found it I traded a rifle I think I had about $600.00 into. The guy who had this one was more into modern stuff and had lost interest in it. He knew I liked the military stuff and wanted it to go to a good home.
Coincidentally, Ian Skennerton, who has written several books on Lee Enfield rifles, was at a local gun show at the time and examined this one. He confirmed it 100% legit.

Very nice. That's a seriously rare piece. I'm loving the one I just did, but I wouldn't want to shorten that baby into a scout.
You know what I like best about most people?

    Their dogs.
