Is this a problem (g19 slide rail)?

I was cleaning it the other day.....for the first time in....a long time.

Anyway, I noticed this on the rear left slide rail

It looks like maybe a chip or something?

I’m sure it’ll keep running, but what are your thoughts?

Its very difficult to tell what it is.
Try rubbing it with a magic eraser and see if it comes off. Might be carbon buildup.

It almost looks like flaking plating but i dont think thats a plated/coated part, and not a clear/close enough pic.

I recollect it is a nickel plating and I know Glock will tell you it’s not a problem.

I don’t see this as an issue at all. Re-assemble and shoot it.

That’s my plan, I just wanted to know if it meant maybe it was in danger of sheering off or something

Some of the plating has flaked off. It's quite common and not an issue that I have ever seen. David

No, there does not appear to be any indication of metal fatigue or stress.

    This is correct.

    Some of mine have that.

    No issue at all.

Keep shooting it as others have said. Your arent likely to notice a single issue.
