The R9 is very interesting, as they've chosen to work along a third dimension, that of pressure / heat capacity.

It is thinner and lighter duty than most suppressors, but has 8 or 9 baffles packed in there.

This allows it to put up fairly impressive suppression numbers in a short, lightweight package.

The trade off is a 16" minimum barrel length requirements on the rifle calibers, which is fine for many users.
Thanks for the input. The plan is the mainly be for the m11, with occasional use on a 14.5” ak, which is lower pressure so im sure its fine.

This looks likean awesome subgun can, especially given the price.

    Yes,

the YHM numbers show it @ 123-125dB with 9mm, which is the same as the 36M in long configuration.

But the R9 is 2" shorter and 6 ounces (35%) lighter than the 36M in long configuration.

The other way to look at is the R9 is 1/2" longer and 1.5 ounces heaver than the 36M in short configuration (essentially the same) , but has the same performance as the 36M long configuration.

A good trade off indeed for most uses.
