Went back to the range with aa2460
23.7gr 2735fps .72moa (4 shots touching, 1st shot a little high, cold bore)
24.0gr 2736fps .94moa (I didn’t check every shot at 24.0gr earlier. I suspect a fast shot made the average higher, and a slow shot in this group lowered the average)
24.3gr 2787fps this is where it got weird. 1st three shots were .78. Then the last two opened up to 4.86moa. I really don’t know what to think. Neither shot were close to each other or really anywhere near where I was aiming.
24.5gr 2826fps. Again three shots at 1.15moa then the last two at 1.85moa. Not as bad but still odd. ETA this charge started showing slightly flattened primers. 68° now.
I may revisit 23.7gr, 24.0gr, and 24.3gr one more time before I make my final decision. I am liking this powder with this bullet.
At the range it looked like somebody got a new AR and shot 500 rounds of PMC brass through it. All in one pile and all new. That’s the brass I’ll process and go with for matches. If anything just to keep some consistency since right now I’m using a literal mixed bag of every type of brass I’ve been picking up for the past several years lol. Probably part of the issue with the fliers haha.
