Actually they do. Usually about Glocks or similar guns and usually by guys who like to stare at their guns more than shoot them.

This is where I would fall in. I'm not saying they're more or less complex. Just that I don't see the value of them compared to a rifle. If I were Bezos then sure why not but as it is I'd rather have a rifle I will use then a can that does nothing for me, costs a lot and has a long wait time

Very true. We're doing a Form 1 kit can now in Titanium. After all is said and done, buying a thread on factory build was about a wash... especially with the labor/time involved with cutting Ti.

Still a fun project, but buying a factory can is way less ass ache.

Your (and pappabears) thread got this going. There were no cheap readily available high volume 9mm cans out so I priced a form 1 can.

I was about ready to do it when I saw the octane m36, then yhm announced the r9.

During my research, I kept seeing comments like I mentioned. Form1s definately have a place, but they still are not cheap.

    Hmmmm, do want.

I have been pondering a large volume .30 can. This would be worth investigating.

For .30, they have a new can that you can add or remove the front section and change endcaps and such. Like a Nomad that can get longer. I’ve been watching them closely; they’ve quietly made several product changes on the website since I bought a MG7k like 6 months ago. It looks like they are working hard to catch up with the established competition. They have a pic of a shotgun can on there....

I swear I’m not affiliated with these dudes, just highly interested.

I'm not to the same level as a lot here, I've only got a small stamp collection of a few grand. my F 1 I built was not to save $ it was to learn more about different baffle stacks. Mine is a pig, it's home is permanently on 10.5 barrel now. If I can blow out the baffle stack I will send to a SOT for rebuild so far no luck it's performance has improved after use. I'm thinking about a YHM 5.56 and doing another F1 for 9 mm for PCC use. Part of reason to "roll my own" I like building stuff myself, not better always. With the stuff going on now I need to submit a few F1s just for the heck of it. I need to get back to welding again too. It keeps the mind active and not setting in front of a computer or TV.
    1168 that's a interesting one

Wow. I can find a use for that. If Silencershop starts selling kits, paired with an electronic Form 1 service, I could see a lot of cans coming into existence in free states.

Edit: I could also see the ATF declaring any roughly cylindrical threaded objects to be silencer parts. Then we’re back to square one with Form 4s, and plumbers and beverage bottlers will need to be SOTs.
