Yeah I'd probably go 1911/2011 then. $2500 won't get you a ton for one of those, but it'll still be a damn nice pistol and they make better heirlooms IMO.

Have you looked at the Lugo arms alien? That looks worth a try.

    Their vs There

I'd start with a CZ Shadow 2 and go up from there. That or go 2011.

I just picked up a Walther CREED for $249 on CDNN. Why? $249 of course. FFL said he could probably sell it for twice what I paid in todays market.

But alas, it is sitting in the safe.

Those STI Staccato P Duo guns seem to be getting really good press from lots of high speed guys lately. If I had the money and wanted a cool toy, I'd get one over the other semi-custom options.

Another recommendation here for the Beretta Langdon. Sweet gun. If you go CZ Shadow 2, take a look at the Orange edition as it is their custom shop upgrade.

Beretta 92X has a $100 rebate if you buy today (promotion ends March 31, 2020). You can add a Langdon Trigger Job In A Bag.

I will look into the 2011. Thanks for the insight. I am also looking at the Beretta 92x.

I am looking hard at the 2011, The new question is Tri Arc or STi?

If I were looking at a high end pistol which would also be a potential heirloom, there sure wouldn't be any plastic on it. It doesn't matter how much you dress up a Glock - it's still just a Glock. Not to mention there's terrible resale value on the custom tupperware guns. I would only consider a steel gun for this purpose.

    Options:
-CZ Shadow 2 or TSO with full workup from CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works
-CZ A01 from the Custom Shop. This is worth investigating.
-Beretta 92, either the Langdon or the 92X Performance models
-HiPower definite has panache, but I don't know of any custom shops offering high end tuning packages for it
-Tanfoglio are very similar to CZ. High end Italian gun. Can be harder to come by though.
