I'm no naval combat engagement expert here, but I'd think ramming something that's got considerably more mass then you do is generally a bad idea other than extremis situations, even if you're not aware the ship you're ramming is double hulled monster designed for ice.

WWII South Pacific some amazing stories of US captains ramming Japanese boats as last ditch efforts, but this seems like anyone who figure out that was gonna end badly.

Yet not sturdy enough to handle an intentional collision with a pleasure ship. The peoples money well spent.

They ought to paint a kill mark on the mast of the cruise ship or fly a pennant with the tonnage sunk written on it. They can advertise this as a once in a life time opportunity to cruise in 5 star luxury on an accused pirate vessel.

For comparison, WWII Fletcher-class destroyers like Arleigh Burke's DESRON 23 "Little Beavers" in the South Pacific were good for around 31 knots, and aircraft carriers get up to similar speed while conducting flight operations. Typical "cruising speed" for a warship on patrol is about 15 though.

Jeez. When I saw "Patrol Boat," I was thinking something along the lines of a WWII PT Boat. Nope, this ole boy was in the Corvette/Frigate range of size, and was relatively new and (probably) expensive.

At the risk of being a pedant, a PT is properly classed as a "Motor Torpedo Boat." A TB is historically a small, fast, maneuverable ship whose primary armament is a battery of torpedoes--destroyers were created in response to their threat, then when the TB mission was moved to slower but stealthier submarines the destroyers adapted accordingly. A better term for this particular ship would be corvette.
