Yeah LA Confidential is a great movie.
Clue is a fun one.
I done think I've seen Murder by Death, I'll have to check it out.

Gettin' down innagrass.
Let's Go Brandon!
I'm a sucker for Bogart/Bacall movies. Key Largo, The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not, Dark Passage
Then you have Gilda with Rita Hayworth
I highly recommend a little known film by Denzel Washington: Devil in a Blue Dress.
Same year L.A. Confidential came out and took all the attention from this movie of the same time period/genre, and I thought Devil in a Blue Dress was the better movie.
I completely unknown Don Cheadle was nominated for an Oscar in a supporting role, and should have won it easily. Don Cheadle is off the hook good in this movie.

“Those who do not view armed self defense as a basic human right, ignore the mass graves of those who died on their knees at the hands of tyrants.”
"The Last of Sheila"
"Ten Little Indians"
"The Name of the Rose"
"L.A. Confidential" is the gold standard for me. I've seen it at least 5 times. I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I think "Chinatown" is overrated. I would agree that "North by Northwest" is also one of the best and I would add "Vertigo" and "Rear Window". "Insomnia" and "The Pledge" for "newer" ones - neither will leave you feeling satisfied at the end, though.
In addition to the movies already posted I’d add “Sea of Love” and “Striking Distance”
I’m an Alfred Hitchcock fan too.
“Midsomer Murders.” Movie length TV episodes. There’s 20 seasons of it.
“Father Brown.” Another TV series with an unassuming sleuth.
