What’s going on with Drudge?

Over the past year I’ve really started to notice some odd headlines and subject matter on the drudge report. Hard to put my finger on it exactly, but going with either sensational or misleading headlines, that would seem to cut against the conservative viewpoint. The one I noticed today was that the comment that Trump dillydallied about putting travel restrictions on from China. Add to the fact that people complained he put the restrictions on too early at the time, and even more interesting that Biden was attacking him on this line today.

I assume he is getting staffers in that are not quite with the OE program. I would hate to see the drudge report go the way of WSJ reportage.

A couple months ago I was at a restaurant looking at real clear politics website. A guy walked up behind me and said that was his favorite place to go now. And then he unsolicited said drudge had just totally lost his way lately. I have to say that up until the last couple weeks I really haven’t been going to drugs much this year.

I just last week had a conversation about this. I was told that Drudge himself doesnt own the site anymore, I dont know who does, but Ive been going there daily since 2004 and Ive noticed a definite change, more anti-Trump & MUCH more dramatic, over-hyped headlines. If you can find out anything, please let me know, but something is definitely happening.

Good lord Drudge went off the rails a long time ago. like years and you guys are just noticing. Like Fox News taken over by never Trumper's and lefties.

Drudge sold out years ago. He literally sold his stake in that site several years ago. Use whatfinger same concept much better execution.

They can’t beat us in the area if ideas so they are slowly getting control of conservative sites and watering them down. David

I just had this same discussion with my father yesterday.

We couldn't figure out if they are just sensationalizing headlines for clicks or if they've actually taken a never-Trump, pro-Left bent. It used to be a headline here or there and it gave the impression they were showing what the "other side" was saying. With their headlines and links lately, it feels like I'm scrolling through a Twitter thread of socialist professors instead of the news site it used to be.

Drudge is trash, I've been reading his site for over 15 years and it is so much worse now than it has ever been. He is just going for clicks and trying to over sensationalize everything.

About six months ago, as you I started noticing his headlines and removed him from my bookmarks.

Used to be a great site. Not just for his stuff, but all the links 'below the fold' were a great clearing house of most news sources. Haven't been on his site in years. I go to Real Clear now for most things.
