    Smith and Wesson revolvers

Next episode of the 2020 confinement pictorials, the S&W revolvers, a world famous brand with a huge following. Mine mostly fall into the 80s-90s period.

I am not a fan of the internal lock, both aesthetically and morally. I think a responsible adult gun owner should not be imposed such a device. Therefore I sadly haven’t bought a new S&W in a long time, but thankfully quality second hand examples are plentiful here in Switzerland.

And yes, I like combat grips. I’ve read some people hate them and think they’re an aberration. They fit my hands perfectly, are very comfortable and I love the look and the Goncalo Alves wood. I find the flaring at the bottom of the target grips make it unnecessarily wide for the little finger, despite having large hands. This also creates a tendency for the gun to rotate upwards in the hand when shooting, especially with heavy loads.

First and oldest one is not exactly a revolver, but close

1922 - Perfected Target Pistol (3rd model single shot)

    1943 - Victory

    1974-75 - 29-2

    1982-86 - 27-2

    1986 - 586 Distinguished Combat Magnum

    1987 - 586-1 Distinguished Combat Magnum

    1988 - 66-3 Combat Magnum

    1989 - 629-2 Classic Hunter

    1990 - 17-6 K22 Masterpiece

    1991 - 29-5 Classic Hunter

    1994 - 686-4 Distinguished Combat Magnum

Just bought but not yet received

    1990-92 - 610

And a non S&W, didn’t want to leave it out alone, and the design influence is obvious

    2007 - Manurhin MR73 (Chappuis Armes)

Wow. Amazing finish to the Frenchified Smith. They made Walthers of course.
Yeah, gotta love Smith revos. I've drifted back to some, having drifted away for awhile.

And the beauty of it, I bought it for $ 120 at an auction in 2015, opening bid.
