Brosnan had the potential to be the best Bond had they given him plots and scenes worthy of his talents.
Ok, Brosnans first movie was just OK, I haven't seen it in 15 yrs probably, should watch it again.

I agree about him though, I was excited to learn he got the JB role.

Craig in Casino was a major turn away from the camp stuff, and I really enjoyed it, but following films took themselves too seriously, which then turned off my suspension of disbelief and I started rolling eyes at the stunts, plot, etc. and that ruined it for me. Connery was probably the best balance on the camp thing, but the Moore movies had better visuals, sets, etc as I assume bigger budgets.

To me, Bond was never intended to be taken seriously because if i did, the house of cards came down and I didn't enjoy it. Had they been able to build off of Royal where Bond -via Craig - was a much more realistic Bond, I would have been fine with that too, but what they tried to do was remove the camp, and yet have Bond villains, gadgets, etc that left me rolling my eyes a lot.
Yes. They had a good thing with Craig in Casino but they couldn't stand to stay in that idiom. They just HAD to add the Matrix Kung-Fu and other-worldly inhuman stunts.

    Too bad.

Hehe...in the books he likes custom 1930's luxury hot rods. Custom as in he'll have a Bentley chassis with another make supercharged drivetrain. Which could actually be done pretty easily back then.

He had real problems during car chases (including a crash that could have killed him) because he'd be chasing or being chased by a far more capable car than his powerful land yacht. But, he dug the style and dumped most of his money into them, keeping only small places to live.

Basically, he liked big, handsome muscle cars. Maybe today Ian Fleming would have him drive a Dodge Challenger? Nah, not exotic enough for Bond.

I didn't read the books but that was supposedly much closer to the Ian Fleming books, so I thought that might be the way forward with Craig, and I though that was great. Then they had to go and F it up as you outlined above. I'd rather just have the old camp tongue in cheek Bond, then the last few Bond movies.

Yea, Casino Royale was much like the flavor of the books. I really liked that.

As for drinking, Bond smoked and drank hard, especially in restaurants. He smoked constantly. Must have stunk bad.

Least Favorite: Anything with Roger Moore, but especially The Man With the Golden Gun & Moonraker.

Most favorite: As much as I like Sean Connery a the classic Bond, Goldfinger being my favorite, I prefer the Daniel Craig movies with Casino Royale being my favorite.
The simple fact of the matter is this, America has never not been great.

    Those were so bad!

The book Moonraker (SPOILER ALERT!) was ONE small nuclear warhead snuck onboard ONE rocket under the guise of a test. (The whole operation run by the villain) A Russian sub was also involved.

Not good enough for the movie though 🙄🙄🙄

Nah, they needed a fleet of subs, stolen subs, stolen space craft, 8 space shuttles, a perfect genetic engineered super-human race and poisonous satellites threatening to kill all humans on earth. 😖😖😳😳🙄🙄🤭🤭

Just stupid. That's Star Trek not James Bond.

I have to admit that that was one was so stupid, I actually enjoyed it. It was closer to a Austin Powers movie than Bond, but it was so grandiose in the stupid, it worked for some strange reason. I can see why some would put it at the bottom of the list.
