I really only loaded that hot stuff for defense mags. I don't shoot it on any sort of regular basis. For 77s, I revert back to a milder H322 load.
Also primers can make a difference, too.

Definitely. I had a 40 fps bump on primer swap alone... I think going from WOLF to Federal AR Match.

A lot of Camp Perry highpower shooters shot thousands of Russian primers (if you can find them). Supposedly very good, very consistent.

The hot ass Federal primers goosed us 40 fps. Good if velocity is the goal. A little bigger group size though.

Okie, I have to check the semi velocity, at 2870 with the 24" Tikka. Checked today, no Wolf primers local

I’ve been using CCI 450s and getting 2760 FPS out of my 16” gun. The rifle runs 2740 with MK262

What are you measuring those velocities with?
That seems a little high with a 16' barrel.

Agreed. That's about the speed I get out of a 24" bolt action.

I haven't seen Wolf primers available for a LONG time. Thought maybe they weren't even made anymore.

Didn't see much of a noticeable difference using Wolf primers compared to the others I tried a few years back in a head to head primer test using about 9 or so different primers.
