Which is just fine. Just make them choose, one or the other and I really don't care which.

I think pretty much everyone reading this would prefer to have a U.S. made optic over a Chinese made optic. And I am sure distributors would prefer to sell US made optics too. It's really not worth arguing about that (even before the COVID-19 issues).

But the problem is the price and quality. Here is a recent video of a test of a US made red dot. It's a Leupold Freedom which sounds great . . . but it failed within 30 rounds. I wish it did better, and I wish US made optics were all cheaper and better quality than Chinese made optics. But that's just not the way things are. Watch from about 11:10 to 13:00 if you want to save some time.

The lack of quality U.S. made optics is pathetic.

My go to for pistol sights and duty grade rifle optics for the last 25 years has been Trijicon. Made in the U.S. and excellent customer service they have never let me down.

If I can avoid purchasing any item made in china, I will. Unfortunately until Apple manufactures MacBooks in the USA, I'm stuck.

    How much has Covid19 cost?
Also depends on who you choose to support- the enemy- or America.
It can start with little things. And when it comes time for other things like optics..just decide to not buy China- there are others made elsewhere besides America.
Example of putting MY money where MY mouth is- Ive been collecting parts for a 20" SPR for over a year and a half now. I was going to buy the best glass I could afford, that fit my requirements. The one leading the pack was the Bushnell FORGE. Found some at unreal prices. Also found out its China made. Thats gonna a big HELL NO. So, after weeks of study, questions, hitting other forums & of course youtube...I found a VERY nice optic made in Philippines..the Nikon FX1000.
Since Nikon is exiting the scope business..these can be found for just unreal prices. Got the scope in, and all I can say is WOW, what a find, what a bargain.
Going to be testing it more soon.
Many times, all we have to do is look harder, or save just a little more to not buy anything from China. Just a wee bit of effort will shut them down forever.
I encourage you all to let our sellers here on this forum & the FB/youtube celebs to STOP hawking anything from China immediately- and to put companies on notice they need to be making moves to exit China manufacture ASAP or we wont be buying ANYTHING from them, China made or not.
I just simply dont understand the mentality of those of you who think this is wrong.
If you could or would politely & thoroughly explain it to m Id love to understand.
And be on the lookout SOON for a like new Holosun to hit the EE CHEAP. Im DONE with it all.

Nothing compared to what a made in China lifestyle is going to cost the USA and the world.

I can very easily afford a 'Made in USA' lifestyle. Given a choice between a holosun or aimpoint I would get an aimpoint without thinking twice about it! And have. Given the option between a chicom product and made anywhere else, again I'm opting for anywhere but china. A few dollars more or a few hundred more irrelevant to me. If your financial status limits your choices/options that is unfortunate. Thankfully that's not my problem.
