If NF made a NX8 in SFP with a less cluttered day light bright reticle, I think they’d sell a ton of them. Heck, I’d have bought the 1-4 if it’s reticle was a little better.

I quite like the nx8 FFP reticle. It’s well executed, usable on 1x and 8x with or without illumination. What more could you need?

Yes, apparently it got passed around ish at the P&S training summit in Utah over the weekend. Its been out for T&E for close to 2 years now? They really missed the boat by holding it back.

Yeah, that ship has sailed to a large degree...

Lots of people were in the market for a 1-6x that wasn't the MK6 price point.

I would agree as well but like I said on page 1, for a 5.56 AR platform, I would be fine with 6x top end mag if it was lighter and shorter than an NX8 with a daylight bright and/or bold reticle that can be used without Illum. and proven to be as durable.

I'm sure they could sell them, if it hit the price point to compete with the Razor II 1-6x and others ($1000-1500).

Higher than that and I think it would suffer greatly in competition with the NX8, Razor III, Kahles, and others in the $1500-2K price range.

Maybe they are still pinning their hopes on the protest with SIG over the reticle design switch and SIG / NSWs bait and switch attempt.

This is why they have held it back for so long from what I have been told.

Yeah no doubt, that protest was funny to read - SIG / NSW trying to double the price of the contract by changing the reticle and Leupold saying "Hold the f*&k on for a minute, we lost because SIG bid a cheap reticle, now they are doubling the price after the fact".

It's telling that very rarely do contract mods get protested but this was so blatant that even GAO was like yeah, that ain't gonna fly. Basically buy the Tango 6T as contracted or start the f*&k over with a new contract bid.

Hope we are getting close! Leupold scopes tend to be quite a bit lighter than others which I'm looking for on an AR-15 carbine.. I'm glad Leupold grabbed the Army sniper rifle optic...since Sig seems to = US Army.
