Wanted one due to liking the action and sights, but they always seemed kind of pricey considering what they were.

I figure the felt recoil on the N stock version was stout and to the best of my knowledge the pad in the picture was not sold as part of the package. No idea why the M4 waffle side stock wasn't used instead since they were on the market from what I recall.

The only person I was ever around that owned one was a guy in a gun shop picking up an aftermarket M4 stock with larger foot print plus rubber pad because of the pounding.

Maybe it's a question for a different thread, but I am curious how often a pump action shotgun actually "wears out" in the line of duty. First time I ever qualified on a shotgun in the .mil (around 2000 or so) I used an M12 with the Flaming Bomb stamp on the receiver and the 1917 bayonet adapter. It actually grouped better than the M-870s.
