This is definitely an interesting flashpoint to watch. I think the bloodline issue could be used to let her take power, but how long would it allow her to hold power? Confucian societies are very patriarchal, and I'm not sure Cersei's evil twin here would be willing to step down after her time as Regent. A civil war, or even just a coup attempt could get very, very ugly because I could absolutely see one faction or another try to settle things with their limited stockpile of nukes.
...they should have seen that arms in their citizens' hands could not make them tyrants, but that evil orders of government make a city tyrannize. Since they had a good government, they did not have to fear their own arms.

Like others, I think it's going to depend greatly on who the Chinese back in that fight. Confucian or not, I could see the Chinese backing her since she's already known in the Western realms though without many details of who she really is or how she rules.

Blame our own press for fawning over her during the 2018 Olympics in their quest of anything and everything anti-American since Trump came into office. They portrayed her as that "sweet little gal" from North Korea and ignored trying to find out who she was exactly. The Chinese know this and I could see them backing her since our own media set the stage for widespread acceptance if she is a contender for power.

I wouldn't count out Kim Fat Fuk just yet. In my experience silence does jot equal death for commie leaders. Now if they announce that he has a minor cold his fat ass is toast.

Kim Fat Fuk certainly deserves to die, but the resulting power struggle will be rough on the populace. Not to mention that there will be harsh measures afterwards to "prove" the new regime's toughness and to keep the populace cowed. Poor bastards.

I haven’t really seen much, but I recall reading that they were ordering a lockdown, despite claiming zero cases. I couldn’t find anything about whether they had Army Day celebrations and if he was there. May Day is a big celebration, so if we don’t hear anything from him by then there’s a good chance something is up.

Otherwise, I’m not super optimistic. Not like the dude was really predictable in the first place.

My bet is the Chinese won't ALLOW much to change from their favorite cat's-paw. They want a buffer between them and the Decadent West, not to mention someone to be a convenient "sub-contractor" for stuff where they don't wanna hold the bag rather akin to how the KGB used to outsource wetwork to Bulgaria, and will do whatever they gotta do to protect that asset.

You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.

One of the first jokes I saw when this whole C19 started was kju went awol day one & they were monitoring the numbers daily & then entering into the global count as follows...one, zero, three, zero, eight, zero, 28, zero, 122, zero etc. I would have to reckon that is probably accurate coming outta the gates till it caught up to those making the zeros.

I'm not sure North Korea has qualified as a Confucian society for some time. I don't even think China has qualified since 1912. I don't even think Taiwan (ROC) would qualify. Hong Kong was probably the last strong hold of a Confucian society. Today China permit and to some extent promotes some Confucian traditions, but communism is in direct conflict with Confucian philosophy and except for mimicking some Zhou traditions most Chinese can't even relate to genuine Confucian thought.

Pretty much. So long as China can afford to support that house of cards, they will.

Honestly at this point, I'm surprised they haven't officially annexed DPRK, they're already using them as slave labor and saber rattling.
