Bat (virus) crap crazy.

Focus on the big picture of stopping the spread so that they can't use this to jam more crap down at us. I swear to God that Libertarianism is just a smoke screen for anti-social mouth breathers.

Do stupid stuff and we'll have New Yorks all over the place and we'll be shut down for months. Prove them wrong by physical distancing and keeping the spread down. I always thought that Trump was going to be the one to self-torpedo his second term, but it is his nominal followers that going to hand the win to the dems by default.

This is simple kindergarten level stuff. But like I've said before, the stupid isn't linked closely enough with the dying. It's like a Darwin Challenge, but someone else has to pay the bill. Wash your hands, keep away from strangers and wear a mask in public.

I get it, you don't like being told what to do. I can't go back and slap your momma for not getting that into your head at a young age. Welcome to society, don't like it, don't participate.

The whole mask thing takes away from the real issue about the closing of the economy, our gov telling people not to pay their rent because they can't be evicted- and the big question, when they start doing widespread testing, what exactly are they going to do with the information? Those are the real issues.
The mask issue is part of it. Not that long ago we were told no mask at all. Then no proper masks for peons since we are too stupid to check for a seal.

If the virus issue clears up the powers that be will take credit for it no matter what. If it never clears up they will put the blame on everyone else no matter what.

I stand by the logic that blacks would still be drinking out of buckets had they not resisted. They lived Jim Crow for about 9 decades before saying screw it and nearly a century of policy got undone in under 20 years.

I, and others, pointed out the same argument you are embracing on masks is also used with firearms. 30rds magazines upsets people so that guarantees legislation according to fudds and similar when the fact is some people want control and that is the sole motivation behind anti 2nd Amendment laws.

Thanks for the insults by the way.

If you wanna wear a mask, wear a mask. I choose not to.
First it was bend the curve. Now antibody testing is coming out showing that really had very little effect on anything. Now it is stop the spread. You’re not gonna stop it. If you want to wear a mask and look ridiculous go for it. Just be sure to wear it in your vehicle when you are driving so people know your super safe.

I think one of the main worries that so many of these mandates and orders were passed by decree and without any debate, and they are criminally enforceable. Do I think that quarantining, movement restrictions, or enforcement of other emergency measures are totally unconstitutional, even in a pandemic? No, there is a need for common sense in emergencies like this. But I do find it disturbing how draconian some of these governors and mayors have been; I agree that this is a test run for much worse things.

That said, you hit the nail on the head about much of the current libertarian philosophy. Libertarianism is SUPPOSED to be about limiting government in order to prevent tyranny and promote individual freedom and self-determination. But like you said, it's kinda devolved into this mouth breather, oppositional-defiant philosophy, and is usually self-defeating. If the government made it a criminal offense to drink Draino, a bunch of libertarians would do it and kill themselves just to prove that they aren't going to let anybody tell them what they can and can't do.

The mask/no mask thing popped up concerning advice on masks. I mentioned the no mask due to medical reasons option with no further comments. How that triggered the not playing along with the program comments and insults is a mystery to me considering the no mask medical option is listed as perfectly fine in most state's orders.

For the record, I think it looks ridiculous to wear a mask while driving unless you are a delivery driver or something. However, my assumption is that people don't want to touch the mask until they are at a spot where they can wash their hands and not possibly contaminate anything else in case there is the virus on the mask. Likely total overkill. I don't know, I am just not going anywhere for a while. I have everything I need at home and grocery delivery has been more than easy.

The ones that look like complete fools to me are the ones doing yard work or walking around the neighborhood with a mask on. Unless you're doing the type of yard work that necessitates a mask (they weren't) then no one is going to get close to you and cough on you. Same with walking, people have been great about crossing to the other side of the street to avoid any issues being too close and even if you were to pass someone, they would basically have to cough on you.

I have always assumed people wearing masks while doing yard work had allergies.

Yoni probably has it right, a few went too far. It is hard for elected officials, especially statist Democrats, to apply common sense when the environment became so charged. Most of them likely want to run away from their over-reacting, but need opportunities.

That said, Chicago Mayor Groot got checked by a 14yoa, may want to protect your sensitive ears- https://mobile.twitter.com/royalprat...95976418557954

If in a month from now we are facing 5 to 10 New York City scale breakouts, they’ll have the fuel to shut down the economy for the next year.
Lmao. You go ahead and mask up, patriot.

The government forcing everyone to wear masks and "social distance" is not the answer.

However, I fully support your choice to do so if you wish.
