    Just a data point.

I’m not defending a shooting off property not in self-defense, etc.
Racism has existed for as long as human beings have walked the Earth, and will exist until the human race goes extinct. It still exists today, both systematically, and personally, in many places; America didn't just flip a switch and turn off racism in the 70s or 80s or whenever we consider racism to supposedly be a thing of the past. Just because some people pull the race card for bullshit that actually is their fault doesn't mean that there aren't people who ARE the victims of racism.

What I DON'T like, however, is that the new definition of racism is a majority population oppressing a minority population, therefore meaning that, by definition, only white people can be racist. I hate that shit: If you don't like the truth, change the language.

We will never know all the details, but my take is that the McMichaels had no business attempting to stop and detain Arbery.
That seems the logical conclusion. I wonder if his being ret LE gave him a false sense of authority of some sort? He did the job is adult life, and didn't see that what he was doing was legally tenuous at best? I continue to feel like there's something we don't yet know.

How about running in the right neighbor hood, couple years a in JH Wyoming and off duty LEO on vacation from Colorado pulled a gun on a 17 Hispanic kid running to a bus stop.

Because She "thought a crime" was in progress.
Off Duty, on Vacation and not in Her jurisdiction.

What you and Uni-vibe are talking about are slavery and prejudice. Racism is a political term.

But I doubt either of you will take the time to think it through rather than have a knee-jerk reaction.

I was referring to lack of common sense, even the local cops thought she was out of line.

She is or was being sued in Civil Court.

They didn't get too torqued over it considering who is cuffed and being searched in the picture versus who was in the wrong.

How is it a knee jerk reaction to suspect that racism might have had a role to play in this case?

If this guy is a retired investigator for the DA, every case he ever touched is now fair game.
A lifetime of Integrity is always in the balance, that was one really stupid move and to take your Son out too, amazing.

And he was promptly released, no charges..
& She is/was being sued in Civil Court.

I'm referring to lack of common sense. On vacation, off duty, out side of Jurisdiction.

And racial profiling by someone who is an outsider to this town.

I live in this town it's small , crime's is rare I've also Been in situations that could have escalated while armed, Did I pull my weapon out? No, I calmed every one down and called the cops.
