Is it possible to take the role pin out of the FSB and slide the gas tube out of the FSB to remove it so that I do not have to remove the FSB?

Yes. Remove the roll pin, slip the gas tube back into the receiver until it clears, then forward past the FSB.

One “extra” tool that I found beneficial is the Geissele gas tube roll pin punches.
Carbon can accumulate and make it difficult to remove, but it will come out.

I use these same tools. They are excellent additions to any maintenance kit.
