There's also the fact that a lot of guys who are reporting lower recoil also happen to be shooting German guns. Much less likely to have bolt gap issues and other problems.
    Yep, all that.

Thanks. Sounds like the HK guns are less finicky. I know mine ate whatever, but since I bought it in like 2002, I can’t be sure how new it really was. My C93 also had no functional problems from brand new, but did have some fit and finish issues.

Break in periods are for kit guns where the spring from this one and the bolt from that one are put together and this part may be brand new but that part may be from a rifle that saw 20 years of military service. Special Weapons started the whole "break in" period for a NEW gun so that should tell you all you need to know.

Unless you are talking about a precision rifle where you are doing a barrel seasoning process it isn't necessary.

The G3 style rifle is definitely the one if the plan is large amounts of junk Russian ammo. Mine would get filthy but kept on truckin'.

Accuracy was fine with quality ammo, too.

I call it the AK of .308 rifles. Except it's more accurate.

This is also true of contract guns like the Greece / EBO Sar 3/8 series and the FMP / PARS import G3S rifles.
