    Hard to boycot China

I need a new fast charger for my Samsung Note9, I went to Amazon, I went on google.

I spent an hour looking, getting more pissed off.

I found Samsung charger from Samsung, list price is $20 more than the stuff on Amazon. Even with that I can't verify it isn't made in China by a sub contractor.

I am frustrated, that my hate for China has no easy solution.

Yes I said hate, I have watched my company go backwards 1.5 years of work meaning profit gone in 3 months. A friend in Seattle has watched his company of 30 years crash down to zero, with no chance of coming back.

Now I can't find a made in USA, or Mexico, or Viet Nam, or even in hell for that matter, fast charger for my phone.

It will take time for the backlash to reach down to things like that. Give it time, write negative reviews etc.

Yea, until we bring manufacturing for those items back home, those small electronics, for the mean time, still have to be bought from China.

As a retailer, you can go crazy trying to source stuff from the U.S. There are simply a bunch of products that are no longer made in the U.S. or even our allies.

I've experienced similar levels of frustration while shopping. US consumers need to boycott China. No doubt about it.

Our elected officials actually need to do something useful for a change. We need to rebuild our manufacturing base and get some factories open. This will take time. But it needs to be a long-term goal.

At least boycotting China is still legal.

In much of the US, boycotting Israel is either a crime, or has other penalties or disabilities.

I would like to see a single example of boycotting Israel being a crime anywhere in the US.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

TSMC is wanting to build that $12b chip factory in Arizona. And they just stopped all new future Huawei orders. Most of their fabs are in Taiwan. Two in China. One in Washington US, and one co-run in Singapore. And in Arizona soon it appears.

(TSMC is the world's largest contract chip manufacturer, based in Taiwan, and makes chips for everyone -- they exclusively make Apple's CPUs/SoC and also have Broadcom, Marvel, MediaTek, nVidia, Qualcomm, and AMD all us TSMC.)

Some electronics will come back to the US -- higher end stuff. The rest can go to Mexico and places like that from China.

I don't check everything I buy if it comes from China as too much currently does. I do check some stuff and try and avoid the China made stuff when possible. If I know or suspect something is from China and I know of and have access to a replacement made elsewhere, I buy the non-China made one.

Several years ago Motorola offered a phone that was "US assembled", moto x it think. I think I bought the only one, wasn't around long. Other examples of this kind are out there. So some of these companies have tried but the market didn't take the bait.

A friend came up with a use for old disposable televisions. He collects them up, takes them to "trigger trash" areas, and sets them out. This way he attracts the Bubbas to fewer spots where he can he at least have some influence on backstop, safety, etc. Then he cleans up the trash and collects the brass.
Go Ukraine! Piss on the Russian dead.
