    DIY cutaway AR?

So I’m bored and rather than just building another rifle I’m thinking of doing something different and “cloning” those Uber-expensive factory cutaways you see pop up from time to time.

I really have no use for it. It would just be a fun-type project.

Anyone done something similar? Any suggestions on where to start? Any reading material out there?

My skills are between bubba and semi-pro and I have minimal tooling so this should be fun!

If you don't have a milling machine at a minimum, I wouldn't even try.

Agreed, this is not a Dremel and ball-peen hammer job, but there is a thread dedicated to such.

Larry Vickers has one in one of his AR15 coffee table books. Id get that book and I’d try to copy that one. With a milling machine of course.

There's a couple different ones that book IIRC.
