Here is the 3 gun match that I believe Botkins was invited, this bad ass lady ran through it and doing all the PT.

I would love to get invited to shoot this! This looks like a ton of fun!

Why? Caring who GT is friends with seems like something that middle school kids worry about.

I mean, GT has bigger problems than being friends with Botkin. If I were GT I'd be worried about one of his own followers abducting him and wearing his skin like a suit. The Garand Thumb fanpage on Facebook is full of it rubs the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again types.

In regards to Chuckman, I agree 100% and apply that philosophy to all aspects of my life...slight tangent: I have a former co-worker who's husband, morbidly obese, left his job to work on the campaign of a certain presidential candidate running analytics. We got to talking, him preaching why I should vote for him/her. I responded with saying that the last person I'm going to listen to regarding social governance is someone who clearly has an issue with personal governance. That's how seriously I consider personal fitness, pending any serious injuries.

As for GT, he puts out solid info and his videos are entertaining. IMO he has a higher level of credibility than Lucas Botkin because he's currently serving as of recently in a SOF capacity. But that comes with a caveat, when it comes to how I conduct myself with a gun and who I go to for training, him and his recommendations rank very low.

At the end of the day, these dudes serve a singular purpose. To put videos and content out there to drive revenue to their brands and businesses. GT alone makes 10K a month from his patreon, Botkin has claimed multiple times that his kydex company is a multi-million dollar a year business. And good for them, they're living the American dream. But why would we listen to them when we have access to resources that are vetted? I mean, Larry Vickers posted in this very thread, he's responsible for creating shooting disciplines that I attend multiple times a month and has, without a doubt, made me a better shooter by compounding skills. AND better yet, when Larry Vickers states that he wants to make people better shooters, I genuinely believe him.

    P.S. sorry for ranting

It's a shame they don't stress use of cover. It's about the only thing I see that is lacking. She's a good shot but she'd be a better fighter if she used some of those doorways and walls. Might as well be bullseye shooting if you are going to run into the middle of it all and shoot in the open.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Well, I don't take him that seriously, but if I was caught w/o cover he'd have my ass.

I watched one of his videos and trained to come close to his splts on reloads and transitions. Wasn't happening for me.

Well, I'm coming to see you in November and it will just be my fat ass, a .45 and bunches 'o mags. Hope I don't feel under dressed, I hate that.

Great point. I'm very jealous of both their round counts and I'm not putting my drills on youtube.... I also haven't dug into who Botkins is or is not training, but I do find GT super funny and enjoy all of his digs during his videos.

Kind of in line with SF worship, a StenGun sighting:

    2. If you're testing something, why not test it in the manner its like to be used, like paired with an LPVO? Also, he made an entire video about how it could be a viable concept so it seems a little more than just testing the product itself.
2a. Not sure why he would need to mess around with it for developing a PC. If it fits, that's about the extent I can imagine. Also not sure how it'd make him a better trainer. Its not like its something that he has to really learn the intricacies of when working with a long gun.

I'm not saying there couldn't be valid reasons I don't understand but I am saying that the ones presented don't really convince me that some of it is anything other than LARPing and/or trying to be different just cuz.
I must have missed some of those vids. The one I saw he was comparing speed and shooting at angles with a normal and offset rds.

Maybe its LARPing, but if I was training guys to shoot, Id want to test how all their gear affects that.
And owning and training with plate carriers and stuff isnt LARPing (stupid term IMO) any more than learning to shoot an AR. I mean, you dont really need an AR either.

What about John Lovell? Is he LARPing? He wear plate carriers and isnt active duty anymore, is he?

To be clear, this isnt about specific people- I dont really care about that, its just a good example of the mentality that citizens (that never served) should not own/use certain gear. Its not LARPing, its not SF worship. Its literally owning and using something.

Edit- I dont know about the phone thing, I can only guess. You could ask him.
