At a minimum that's better than the news reporting they have unloaded weapons.

I had not heard that report. As a general rule, ARNG does the mission in public with unloaded weapons.

Sadly my prediction is coming through. The savages are destroying a dozen of Atlanta PD squad cars, setting at least one on fire. Others are moving to the interstate and trying to block traffic. It's a riot now.

I see the Minnesota ARNG has deployed with magazines in their weapons. What's the consensus, ammo or no ammo in those weapons? That is one tiny fellow on the right:

Some do, some don't. Enhanced units have the most modern equipment.

My unit deployed for Katrina just after I got out. They had ammo and told me they came close to using it several times.

Not dis-agreeing, just asking... Why in the world would anyone put an unloaded in the magwell? Wouldn't that make for a an embarrassing day if something bad popped up.

OCP and ACU mixed uniforms are a no no, but still lots of field gear (FLC, etc.) that still is in ACU. Army uses it until it wears out then replaces it. That has been Army SOP since after the Civil War.
