Philadelphia protests turning violent; what's happening in your AOR?

Ya know, it's not Seattle going Lord of the Flies we should object to... it's their insistence on taking the rest of WA with them. Part of me really wants to say just wall the city off and livestream it 24-7 telling the world "you have a choice... civilization, or THIS."

I'm beyond pissed about it. Freedom of speech is violated by a group whose financing can probably be traced and the Feds do nothing.

This does not surprise me in the least. I grew up in the Bay Area and attended the Univ. of CA Berkelely. For decades, my memories begin in the early '80s, free speech has been for those who regurgitated the party dogma. Not for those who.... gasp.... actually thought for themselves. My observation of this behavior led to my libertarian/conservative ideology.

Hennepin County, MN (where Minneapolis is located) has filed felony charges against a truck driver who merely drove along an open freeway and encountered a BLM crowd blocking it. He got shot at for his trouble, while one freeway-blocker got some minor scrapes from getting out of his way.

The trucker who was attacked after driving into a massive protest on the Interstate 35W bridge following the killing of George Floyd was charged Thursday with two criminal counts from the May 31 incident.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman's office charged 35-year-old Bogdan Vechirko of Otsego with threats of violence, a felony, and criminal vehicular operation, a gross misdemeanor, saying the driver admitted to investigators that he was "kind of in a hurry" and the investigation showed he sought to "scare" the protesters out of his path.

Vechirko drove onto the bridge as hundreds of pedestrians protested the death of Floyd, who had died six days earlier in the custody of Minneapolis Police. Vechirko said that he was returning from a fuel delivery in south Minneapolis and didn't mean to drive into the protest or aim to hurt anyone.

A video posted on Twitter Monday night shows a police line attempting to block off a street from protesters. Suddenly, a large black pickup truck with someone standing up in the bed of the truck rounds the corner and plows through the police line. An officer can be seen laying on the ground as the truck drives away.

They're making a huge mistake here. When people have exhausted all other options and have nothing left to lose, well...we've discussed at length what happens...

I think at this point there could be a running 30 minute gun battle in the street with AKs and grenades and if LEO killed one of the AK47 wielding attackers there would still be rioting.

Pretty much. The narrative would be that the police "didn't do enough to deescalate the situation" and that if the attackers were white, the police most certainly would have.
