Chicago seems to have gotten kind of quiet (looting and riot wise) since there are tons of people being hunted and charged now. But I wonder what this article means for Portland, Seattle, and NYC.

The funding cut is what I meant. I know the Chicago “mayor” (term used very loosely) is NOT fond of DJT so I’m sure her office sounded like Hillary’s hotel room that election night in 2016 when she heard this. I hope she’s pissed.

I call her worthless. I’m in a FAR west suburb with a full county between mine and Cook. And I still feel the pain of Chicago 40 miles away.
If you want a good laugh though, she recently set up a COVID contact tracing department where they are specifically looking to hire minorities and females for rather large sums of money. Like a $16mil program.
HTH, I was not raised here but when I was back home once a friend showed me that site a while back and it truly is a morbid curiosity that keeps me glancing back at it. I have been to Chicago 2 times in the last 4 years, both this winter and one was for a Dr appointment. I have NO desire to go there for anything. The only nice thing about the city is you can fly along the skyline and it really is a nice view and there isn’t much anti aircraft fire to worry about.

I have a friend on the ground there. He says tensions have been high all week.

Well established and advertised media coverage, sympathetic sponsors, weather isn't too cold, employer can't fire you for attending, colleges give extra credit for protestors, looters, vandals, and firebug don't GAF about anyone else's property - it should get sporty.
I hope they all catch Covid and die. Hopefully 1911A1 don't bring it home to his Mom.
