My brother-in-law has finally seen the light and wants to pick up a G19. I called my local-ish shop and asked if they had any in stock. They do, but the person I spoke with quoted me a price of $750. Is that how much they sell for now?

Here's a webpage listing some MSRPs of various G19 models.

A G19Gen5 MOS' msrp is $745.
The best prices are usually a "Blue Label" or GSSF price (anyone can qualify for a GSSF price if a 2 year membership is bought ahead of time). A regular (non MOS, no nightsights) G19gen3-4 would go for ~$425 depending on the FFL.
Low to mid $500. Depending on sights
Grabagun wants $499.
I was thrown when I found out the price. The shop I called I always considered one of the good ones. Great selection, decent prices, staff that isn’t completely moronic. During Obama’s two terms they didn’t price gouge. But something must have snapped with the owner. Maybe he’s desperate because he was forced to close up shop for the past couple of months. Maybe he’s simply showing his true colors now that he has a captive audience and little to no competition. (The county in which his shop is located has allowed gun stores to open back up, the ones in mine are still shuttered.) But either way I still think $750 is crazy high.
Glad I’m not one of the schmucks that needs a gun right now.
I’m in CA, in the Bay Area.

Even at the height of previous craziness, here in Northern Va I’ve never seen them for more than $600.
