Anyone who was arrested for a "violation" needs to get a good lawyer for the lawsuit. And, the Governor needs to come down hard on the city. Florida law contains preemption, firearms law is within the purview of the State. DeSantis needs to make an example of the city, because all the tinhorn dictators, otherwise known as mayors want to make up all sorts of regulations to show their own power. Worse, the anti-gun crown who can't win in an election or the courts figures they can end run the legitimate mechanics of government to impose the way they think things should be.

(1) PREEMPTION.—Except as expressly provided by the State Constitution or general law, the Legislature hereby declares that it is occupying the whole field of regulation of firearms and ammunition, including the purchase, sale, transfer, taxation, manufacture, ownership, possession, storage, and transportation thereof, to the exclusion of all existing and future county, city, town, or municipal ordinances or any administrative regulations or rules adopted by local or state government relating thereto. Any such existing ordinances, rules, or regulations are hereby declared null and void."

Sloppy wording, but it doesn't seem like conceal carry with permit or lawful carry securely encased is actually banned.

The ban on sales or display for sale is pretty amazing. They just shut down all the gun stores. Wonder if police supply stores will have to comply.
