The problem is, the anti-gun states will probably just give these "peace officers" some sort of official status that gives them the same carry/possession rights as cops, whereas everyone else will still be banned from owning "assault weapons" or CCing and such. And a lot of cops will still toe the line like good soldiers and enforce this.

That would not surprise me. In jurisdictions where an individual who isn't "connected" cannot get a permit, "private security guards" can; New York City is a perfect example. Get the right lawyer, draw up appropriate corporate paperwork, Voila! As with so many things, no "official" would dare turn it down. It's for the unfortunate mothers and children.

Pull police presence from participating communities and watch how quick those new protectors become the new enemy.

Don't drop the ball or let your guard down. Quote the Constitution as fact, law of the land, and do so collectively. DO NOT take their race-bait, socio-economic disparity bait, et al,... just speak the facts...gently guide the conversation so they state their own rules and then publicly document it...Youtube, Twitter, FacrceBook, etc...play their game with their rules...traditional values and morals do not apply with this generation...remember, they are socialists, ignorant of their own wealth and entitlement...beat them at their own game...there is no other way.

Armed white folks, irked by restrictions on their "freedom" in the name of Covid-19, protested.

Why not BLM?

Nobody is angry at them for protesting. They are angry for them being violent, rioting, and looting. In my sleepy town, a family friend had obscenities blared at him and then was assaulted. His crime? Being a white dude picking up carry-out.


Then there is the problem of BLM attempting to compound their own “issues” by calling for less police funding. Common sense dictates strained police budgets will result in less training.

A shoot out breaks out between such and such city police and an armed group claiming that they are BLM “peace officers”, the police were trying to serve a warrant when long bursts of fully automatic weapons fire engaged the police. The BLM “peace officers” have retreated but called into a local radio show with their demands.........

Of course it can go bad, of course it can be negative. They get the same benefit of doubt until that time comes. I hope it never does though.

These events and Government oversteps are the biggest wins for changing people's minds on the 2nd Amendment that I can remember since I've been alive. I have people who have been vocally anti-gun asking me to take them out shooting. This is the unification we need if the 2A is going to continue to survive and thrive.

It certainly is. But the fact is that BLM generally opposes all police, and America in general. If they can join all the non-BLM gun activists in telling the government to take their gun bans and shove them, I'm all for it. But they have the same "rules for thee but not for me," mentality as everyone else on the left. They want special privileges that will apply to only them and not to anyone else.

I had to read BLM founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors' autobiography as part of my master's program; Cullors is an avowed and open communist; she cites Lenin, Stalin, Castro, and Mao as some of her biggest influences. Trust me, they'll arm themselves and demand that white people be disarmed.
