Any experience with this PDW case?

Looking at this PDW weapon case from Flambeau. HERE

Does anyone have any experience with it?

I ordered it from Amazon for $45 shipped, and plan to use it for my BCM AR pistol.

    Thanks

Can't speak to this particular case, but I've used a wide variety of both Flambeau and Plano cases for decades on other things I deal with (computer parts, modeling supplies, gaming miniatures) and had good luck with both companies' offerings.

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I ordered the case on a whim, and am hopeful it'll work out. For the money, it doesn't sound like I can go too far astray.

It looks similar to what Rifle Dynamics, and Krebs Custom’s utilizes when they ship their weapons.

I was looking at the same case yesterday, looks to be a good value for a light duty case. Keep us updated.

I received this case today. It comes with partitions and even straps to secure your weapon through the foam. I’m not sure I will use the straps.

    Cons
First impressions are this thing is wide. I mean, a good 50% wider than I think necessary. I have double depth pistol cases this thick. The foam is thick, and it seems to protect the gun well. Keep in mind, I’m used to AR soft side rifle cases, so this hard case is much thicker.

    I’d also give the latches a 5/10 for functionality/durability.

    Pros
This thing is cheap (inexpensive), which elevates my ability to tolerate the cons.

The case is the right length for an AR pistol. It fits in there nicely.

The plastic sides are on par with you’d think a $45 flambeau case should be. Durable enough.

    Summary
You get what you pay for, but this is a functional case, that holds my AR fairly secure on car trips, trips to the range. Etc. I would not trust this to rugged air travel handling, but it’s certainly worth $45. Happy with the purchase.

One thing I look for is multi-piece moldings, with top, bottom and latches molded as separate pieces--when you mold it to fold over a simple "thinned" area, repeated flexing eventually leads to failure. Look for hinges that look like a bar with a U-channel section clipped around it.
