    I just acquired a 38 Special S&W

What frame is it? I need to get some grips. I got this and Colt Diamondback, pretty cool.

Actually looking at that screw under the top strap it could be a k38. Is it SAO?

    This exactly.

Also appears to be a 5-screw frame which I think puts it as probably early 50's production.

Looks like it is in great shape. I'll bet its a sweet shooter.

I’ll list what’s on the gun when I get home. It’s in amazing shape for a 50’s gun. It here is hardly a line in the wheel.

It’s DA OR SINGLE ACTION. TRIGGER feels like work was done in it.

Looks like “4 screw”, don’t see screw on top front of trigger guard that holds in yoke.

A dandy if 4 or 5 screw. And seriously, “they don’t make em like that anymore”. : )
Nothing beats a well broken in or tuned K frame for double action in my book.

    Nicely played PB.

Forgot; the .38 Special NEVER had recessed cylinders. Just the .357 and the other magnums.

A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.
