That is cool as hell. He is a tremendous smith. I have a 3" Model 64 that he worked over with a duty tune package. It's unreal. Looks completely stock, but will just amaze you with the trigger pull. And it's completely reliable with CCI primers - that's the hard part.

Yeah. I remember going to his garage/shop to pick up my pistol. I'm afraid to think of how many years ago that was.

I have pretty much the same gun, it was my dad’s..... 6 inch K38. When I get home I’ll post a pic. Nice score, very shootable wheel gun.

I looked under the hood and :

    The S&W 38 special it has an "E". over top a 466XXX

    The Colt Diamondback is D18XXX
    "1" underneath.

Does this help with timelines and value a bit. I dare to ask.

    PB

We shot the Diamondback and really enjoyed shooting that piece, waiting for grips on the S&W.

Frank is old school majic with S&W revolvers.

I was squaded with him several times at the old Masters event.
Was always impressed with his equipment/firearms.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.

It feels great in the hand too. Grips are beefy and a lot to hold on to. Sunday blaster session! Im keeping these babies on regardless, but you see how the logo is partially covered, is that how it's supposed to be. It doesn't bother me, I like the color of the older grips.

    Its just in great condition.

The grips (covering p/o the logo) are correct PB.

Enjoy your new blaster, and use in good health!
