Way worse than 1968. The looting and rioting of that time were not as widespread, as large in scale, or supported by so many people in society and the media.

A lot of the great bands from the 70s and 80s (Boston, Journey, Asia, Yes, Night Ranger, Styx, etc.) are signed to Frontiers and still putting out good stuff. There's also a bunch of new bands on that label that are putting out 70s and 80s-style classic hard rock. Check out Eclipse, One Desire, Lionville, and W.E.T. Not 60s stuff like CCR, Dylan, Beatles, or the Rolling Stones, but still music from a better time.

Anyways, if things continue the way they are, I think it'll be worse than in 68. The economy is worse now, people are more brutal and violent, and there is a total rejection of all truth. The generation that had seen WWII and the Holocaust firsthand was still alive and well in the 60s. Nowadays, both those events are just chapters in history books. Also, the left did not have the stranglehold on academia, media, big business, and all major urban areas like they do today. Patriotism was still a virtue in the 60s; nowadays, it's considered racist to have anything except a vile hatred for this country.

I feel that, in November, we could see the start of a Civil War. If Trump is reelected, the left will rise up to try and overthrow him. If Biden wins, they will rise up and decide that it's now time to genocide the right. That is, if they even wait till the election...
Agree either outcome will result in violence. Ill go one further
Trump wins again they will try to assainate him

At least we're not in a major conflict like Vietnam I think having the burden of war made things much worse in 68. Now today I think we probably have more radical leftist.

You think that the Secret Service hasn't stopped about a thousand legit assassination attempts a year and we don't even hear about it?

My crystal ball says the last hLf of 2020 will far surpass anything we have seen in the last hundred years.

This tension has been building over the past 17 years. After a brief period of supporting GWB for how he handled 9/11, the leftist media stepped up and turned back against him when W turned his sights on Iraq. While a lot of people questioned the wisdom of that, the left went on a tear about him being a war criminal, worse than Saddam and OBL, and trying stir the people up into rebellion. Since then, it's been a downward slide that sped up when Obama was elected, sped up again in Obama's second term with the whole Occupy Wall Street movement and Ferguson. Then when Trump got elected...the fuse was lit.

The sad thing is, the outrage is over nothing, in the grand scheme of things. In the 60s, the black population had every right to be pissed off. They actually had every right to hate this country. How can you support a nation that drafts you and forces you to risk your life in its defense, only for you to come home and not even be able to sit where you want on a public bus? Nowadays, how have any of these activists been wronged to a point where they need to actually destroy the nation? Everything they're fighting for is based on half-truths and outright lies.

    It's already like Orwells 1984.

So whats going to stop the socialist insurgency? The constitution? Or are we all suddenly just going to put our beliefs aside and be united?

More than likely we are going to see the left ratchet up the violence and conflicts between now and November 2020.

"Unity with Evil IS Evil." Unfortunately, just like the Civil War and WWII/Cold War, when two mutually exclusive ideologies meet one set of ideals and principles must prevail over the other.

You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.

Do you understand how many millions of people we'd have to kill to surpass 1945.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

G-D forbid, but it might come to that.

BLM last week probably got $1B in funding. They are a marxist organization with some members and/or supporters dedicated to genocide.
