    Install question: Troy M-LOK handguard

With these handguards, specifically with a carbon fiber 308 Troy M-LOK handguard, does this “snap” place when rotating back to center with the upper receiver?

Per (terrible) instructions, I slide on while rotated about 5 degrees to the left:

If I rotate beyond the center line, it seems to “snap” into a solid position, but rotated slightly right.

I can center it just fine and tighten screws. However, I ask, because it feels like a very positive “set”/“snap” when I rotate it to the right as shown in the second picture above. If that’s normal to feel when out of position (but feels right, if that makes sense), I’ll just center and set the screws. Just wanted to check.

Try loosening the lock down screws a bit more. Maybe a half to one full turn.

Tried that, had the screws just shy of falling out

Looks like I’m good here. Sharing response from Troy below, for anyone else who runs into the same question.

    Hi ——,
This rail will free float, move freely until the 4 screws and clamps are torqued into position.

    Thank you,
