But the Russians might be able to project force if they wanted. They do have far more strategic airlift assets than NATO as well as a good airborne service with decent equipment. If they wanted to seize them that is. But the easy thing to do is the unthinkable first strike and hope like hell our command and control assets are too bogged down to notice several hundred Russian warheads flying at Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming (amongst other places) and going after our missile boats. That's been my Balkanization premise all along. As things break down the "centralized authority" cannot account for all their Cans of Sunshine.

And in fact, there may be a breakaway group, even a particular State Government, that gains control of some- Look at Ukraine- they originally inherited many Soviet Era nukes--betting they wish they still had them....Anyway, Once any break away "Republic" etc... has nukes- nobody is going to be all that hot and bothered about "bringing them to heel", it will sober the shit out of people real fast..... Whether the "Coastal Elite" like it or not, it will be a Fait Accompli as the French say and only a question of drawing the new lines on the map, refugee flow management, and trade terms etc....

Sadly, this scenario is less fiction and completely within the realm of possibility given how much hatred of Trump has made them irrational.

Ever hear (or used) the old expression "you're driving me crazy!" in regards to a spouse or significant other? I used to think it was just an expression people used. Now, I see the left wearing it like a badge of honor.

Given the parameters for this scenario: Trump wins, tells Oregon, California and Washington to get their shit together or he's coming in after they lose complete control after the election. They tell him to piss off; he comes in anyway. They "revolt" and secede from the Union. China asks innocently "would you like assistance since the US has troops massing on your borders?" and they agree.

Think that can't happen? Oregon and Washington lost control of a major US city and a portion of another over the summer. The major cities in California are powder kegs waiting for a match. The Federal Government offered assistance. Idiots turned it down because of their irrational hatred of everything Trump. How much of a stretch do we have to make to see they'd be willing and even eager to accept outside "protection" from that rat bastard sitting in the White House?
