If you're having a hard time finding filters and masks, a Canadian company sells them and ships to the US.

The odds of you having to fight through gas with your rifle is next to zero. There are far more likely ways for you to expire...food and shelter being at the top of the list. Afraid of someone trying to CS you out of your home...dunno if that has ever happened outside of LE but hey it's your money. As a general rule of thumb is invest in quality multiple-day defensive courses, they usually serve your money better if you are bent on spending it under the 'defense' category.

May I suggest you look at commercially available 3M 6000 series full-face masks? They are cheap ($60-100) and you can get multiple filters for them. Yes they will work with CS gas and all that fun stuff. Best thing is you can also use these when working on paint projects around the house. I used them for spraying cabinets.

It's possible tyranny will come looking for banned firearms that were supposed to be bought back (if reported, The VC/NVA had a network of informants. https://youtu.be/QfvXwuZ-bok?t=19 ). Same with anything registered. They might even start rounding up Conservatives. Tyrants will definitely use gas if you try to hold out in a fortified home while waiting for help to arrive.

A CBRN mask with 40mm threads is not just useful for tearanny gas but other disaster scenarios as well. It's worth saving up for imo.

The odds are near zero, but not zero, and the mask is useful in other scenarios... may as well make it one you can use with a rifle.
