Why in the world would you order off Amazon? They're free if you order straight from the ATF.

Didn’t know that. Although, I prefer the pack of 50 for $10 as opposed to the 2 I’ll get from the ATF for free with each order.

You can get as many as you want directly from the ATF.

If E-File takes a week or two (a short period) why do people send it in and wait 6 months to a year?

That’s for a form 1 to “manufacture”. What you see taking 6 months to a year is usually a Form 4 for a Transfer. That’s a paper form & for whatever reason that takes a lot longer.

Sorry...I was looking at the wrong form. That’s great to know!

Can one actually return a pistol lower that has been registered (remanufactured) as an SBR back into a pistol just by putting a brace back on it? That wasn’t my understanding.

Yep! Sure can. Remove the evil feature that makes it an NFA item & just like magic it’s back to a regular old rifle or pistol

Another option is to leave it as a Pistol with one of the braces like the SBA3. Then you can keep your short upper on it and travel out of state like you would with any other pistol.

The differences for one of these and a true SBR are pretty minor though, technically you shouldn't be using the SBA3 as a 'stock'.
