Does this change your tactics on encountering a protest?

Scary video. Another aspect to consider, would this video be justification of you driving through a crowd of protesters (within reason), knowing that this type of crap is happening (protesters shooting into vehicles).

Good reason to have your firearm ready or a friend riding shotgun to return fire if need be.

Also to be continuously keeping an eye out at longer range and turn away at the slightest sign of anything untoward: stopped traffic, clusters of people on foot... better to have to explain erring on the side of caution later and being ALIVE to do it.

Also, where legal, having a police-band scanner in your vehicle.

Nah. Policy is already to turn around.

I'm good at backing up, too.

I have no problem driving the wrong way slowly in the breakdown lane of an interstate and down an on-ramp.

I'm lucky in that I don't have to travel in protest prone areas, and I get statewide intel reports via email on my phone. So if say a protest is going to happen in my small town (which happened), I already know about it and avoid the entire area like the plague.

If I somehow got caught in a flash mob, I'd do whatever was necessary to extricate myself with the least harm and fuss possible. I do however retain all rights to self-defense against reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm. If that meant running over protesters while shooting through windows, so be it. Their lives are not more valuable than mine, regardless of how many there are.

If I were subject to protest/violence prone areas, I'd have all my vehicles outfitted with 360° camera coverage, so I could justify my lawful use of force after the fact. I'm currently in the research phase on camera systems anyway, for insurance purposes.

    Good, glad they were arrested.

+1 why even be there in the first place or not turning around blocks before, just asking for trouble.
