Think We Got It Bad...Be Thankful You Don't Live In Hong Kong...

Well China has officially closed the last door to freedom. Any chance for a return to some semblance of former Hong Kong is now completely gone.

China passes controversial national security law for Hong Kong

Chinese President Xi Jinping has signed the Hong Kong national security law, state media reported on Tuesday saying that the top decision-making body in China's parliament has voted to approve the legislation.

Few details have been unveiled, but Beijing says the law is aimed at prohibiting secession, subversion of state power, terrorism activities and foreign interference.

It came ahead of tomorrow's anniversary marking Hong Kong's handover from the U.K. to mainland China on July 1, 1997 .

Think about this. Everyone over the age of 23 was born in a mostly free Hong Kong under a western standard of law and order. Now they are dramatically, and in a very short space of time, under the same level of control as anyone on the mainland.

Think how painful that must be for anyone who is in their 40s and well remembers a different country a mere two decades ago.

Hong Kong Police already posted on Twitter that the first person arrested under the new laws was arrested for holding a flag.

It's pretty disgusting too when they kneel in the NFL and then zoom in on the Nike shoes

This is why we need to be willing to fight. This will come our way eventually, and maybe sooner rather than later. This is why I get angry when I hear things like "the country isn't even worth fighting for" and "I'm just going to get a cabin in the mountains..." and stuff.

I’m sure the NBA players will address this issue with slogans on the back of their jerseys...
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Not the first time the rush to decolonize hurt people, likely won't be the last.

The NBA is also going to paint BLM on the sidelines too. The UT football team is going to wear black jerseys. NASCAR has a BLM car. The NHL is talking about doing something to support BLM. Waiting for Baseball Leagues to start something.... black baseball fields in support? ... BLM is nothing short of a terrorist organization. It's unfathomable that people actually believe this movement is legit. I'm done with sports.

While true, in this case it was the end of a 100 year lease as a result of losing Opium Wars to England. So it wasn't really decolonization. Sadly during the lease, the mainland went from a republic to a communist state.
