I love Hong Kong, fun city, great food, always wanted to go visit again but with all this coco19 and the chicom heavy hand oppression I'm changing my mind. Also wanted to go to Shanghai due to its reputation of East meets West culture, it's going to be a long time and I'm getting old.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.

Britain didn't really care for the hassle, however, and didn't want to worry about the problem anymore. Very familiar, and very common for the Brits to do post-WWII.
Technical point to you. Glad to defer to someone who actually knows a subject.

I really, really wanted to see the pyramids and Cairo museum in person one day. I was really hoping for the Arab Spring to be an actual thing. But post 9-11 Egypt just isn't going to work for me.

Hong Kong was also on my "maybe one day" list. Now it's not for all the reasons you stated.

Shanghai was like Chicago but full of Asians. Hong Kong was just different . Disneyland meets a compact San Francisco? I was there for work when I get to go. Not really sight seeing.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Well, the globalist/communist UN says it's good China is cracking down on Hong Kong. Oh, and just for laughs the Human Rights Council is led by Cuba.
